Deploy NanoClaw

Deploy a lightweight, container-isolated OpenClaw agent purpose-built for messaging channels — WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord.

What is NanoClaw?
NanoClaw is a stripped-down OpenClaw deployment optimized for channel-only use cases. It runs in an isolated container with a minimal attack surface — no web console, no browser, no persistent gateway. Ideal for customer-facing bots that need to be secure and cost-effective.

Prerequisites

1

Clawkeeper account with a paid plan

NanoClaw deploys via Cloud Deploy (Pro, Team, or Enterprise). Sign up at clawkeeper.dev/signup and upgrade in Settings.

2

Messaging channel credentials

NanoClaw connects to messaging channels only (no web chat). Have at least one of these ready:

  • Telegram — Bot token from @BotFather
  • Discord — Bot token from the Discord Developer Portal
  • WhatsApp — Business API credentials
3

LLM provider API key

Same providers as OpenClaw: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Ollama (local), or Ollama Cloud.

Deploy a NanoClaw Instance

4

Open the deploy wizard

Go to Hosts → Deploy Cloud Instance or click + Deploy on the hosts page.

5

Select NanoClaw as the agent framework

In Step 0: Agent Framework, select the NanoClaw card (marked “Lightweight”). This automatically:

  • Restricts channels to WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord
  • Disables web console and secure browser
  • Enables Docker deploy mode with container isolation
  • Uses a minimal 2GB instance (cost-effective)
6

Configure your messaging channel

Select a channel and paste your bot token. NanoClaw supports one channel per instance. For multi-channel setups, deploy multiple NanoClaw instances — they share the same dashboard.

Cost-effective multi-channel
NanoClaw instances run on the Small 2GB plan ($20/mo each). Three channel-specific bots cost less than one full OpenClaw instance with all channels enabled.
7

Deploy and monitor

Click Deploy. NanoClaw provisions faster than full OpenClaw since it skips the web console, browser, and NeMo stack. Monitor from the dashboard like any other instance.
